Agency review

# First Page Sage review

First Page Sage is a long-running SEO agency that now sells GEO, AEO and AI-search visibility to mid-market and enterprise clients. Its public materials are unusually detailed, but most evidence for GEO performance is produced by the agency itself, including market research, case studies and rankings in which First Page Sage is also a participant.

Company record

## The firm dates to 2009, while its public location records now point to both Berkeley and San Francisco

First Page Sage's current About page identifies Evan Bailyn as founder and CEO and says the company has more than 150 clients, most of them midsized businesses. LinkedIn lists a 51–200 employee range.

Founded **2009**

Legal name on privacy policy **First Page Sage, LLC**

LinkedIn headcount band **51–200 employees**

Current first-party client claim **150+ clients**

**Address record**

The Privacy Policy identifies First Page Sage, LLC at 2930 Domingo Ave. #174, Berkeley, California, and Clutch uses the same Berkeley address. LinkedIn and DesignRush currently display 2155 Union Street in San Francisco. The public pages do not explain which address is the principal operating office.

GEO origin claim

## First Page Sage's own publications do not use one consistent account of who originated GEO

2023

**Current LinkedIn copy calls Evan Bailyn the founder of GEO marketing in 2023**

The company profile uses this as part of Bailyn's current biography.

2024

**A 2025 First Page Sage cost guide says Bailyn and the agency pioneered GEO in early 2024**

The article places the agency's own entry into the field about fourteen months after ChatGPT's launch.

2026 guide

**The agency's current GEO strategy guide says the field originated in early 2023 in online forums**

It then credits a Princeton-led academic study in early 2024 with bringing wider visibility to the term and methodology.

The chronology supports First Page Sage as an early commercial participant in GEO. It does not support treating the stronger “founder of GEO” wording as a settled historical fact.

How the GEO service is framed

## The current model extends SEO into reputation, third-party mentions and AI recommendation visibility

First Page Sage's GEO service page describes six activities rather than a separate reputation-remediation product.

**List placement**

The agency seeks inclusion and stronger placement in third-party comparison and ranking articles.

**Database inclusion**

Work includes getting company or product information into established databases that may be used by search and AI systems.

**Website authority**

Traditional search authority remains part of the model, with Google and Bing visibility treated as relevant to AI recommendations.

**Review management**

Public review scores are treated as one of the inputs that can affect whether a company is recommended.

**Achievement publication**

Awards, accreditations, company size and usage statistics are promoted as factual reputation attributes that AI systems may surface.

**Sentiment monitoring**

The service also tracks public discussion about the company and incorporates that material into ongoing optimization work.

**The six-factor framework is First Page Sage's own model of AI recommendation behavior**

The service page presents relative importance and causal relationships as operational findings. It does not provide platform documentation from OpenAI, Google, Anthropic or Perplexity validating the weighting of these factors, so buyers should ask how each recommendation is tested and measured in their own category.

Self-published agency rankings

## First Page Sage ranks itself first in a 2026 study produced by its own research team

In October 2026, First Page Sage published a ranking of 108 GEO and AEO agencies and assigned itself the top position with a composite score of 92.1\. The methodology is described in detail, but several underlying inputs are not available for independent inspection.

Inputs used **Public testing plus private and company-controlled evidence**

The study says it used standardized prompt testing, agency websites, private CMO communities, client-lifetime databases, live demos and reviews or commentary from closed networks.

Independence limitation **The publisher is also one of the entities being scored**

The page says Clutch and G2 were excluded because of concerns about their review incentives. It does not publish the raw private-community evidence or an external audit of the composite scores.

Pricing and commitment

## The agency publishes a GEO price range, but it appears inside its own market research rather than a standalone rate card

First Page Sage's October 2026 pricing study lists its own GEO/AEO service at $6,000–$12,000 per month. The same table describes the commercial model as monthly deliverable credits and month-to-month engagement.

Published monthly range **$6,000–$12,000**

Company-published GEO/AEO pricing as of October 2026.

Commitment **Month to month**

Industry service pages also state that production begins after the first planning month.

Clutch profile **$10,000+ minimum project**

The profile covers the broader agency rather than GEO alone and currently has no client reviews.

**Terms not public**

Reputation Insider did not locate a public client-services agreement specifying cancellation notice, refunds, ownership of created content, third-party placement costs or post-termination access to tracking data. Month-to-month language alone does not answer those questions.

Evidence quality

## The agency publishes detailed GEO case studies, while independent GEO-specific verification remains limited

First-party case studies **Recent GEO cases contain prompt sets, pipeline metrics and AI-visibility measurements**

The AI writing-assistant case, for example, reports monthly qualified business leads increasing from 214 to 2,640 and a change in how AI assistants described the product. The client is not named on the case-study page, so the figures cannot be matched publicly to the client's own reporting.

Named clients **Client logos do not establish which service each company purchased**

First Page Sage publicly names companies including Salesforce, Microsoft, U.S. Bank, Logitech and Cadence. The site does not state that every named client bought GEO or AI-reputation work.

**No reviews** Clutch Current profile is marked “Not yet reviewed”

**5.0 / 5** Google via DesignRush 9 Google reviews shown when checked in October 2026

**4.0 / 5** Birdeye 13 reviews shown on the current profile

BBB currently gives First Page Sage an A+ rating and lists it as not accredited. BBB's rating is not a customer-review score.

Buyer diligence

## GEO procurement should make the measurement method part of the contract

01

**Request the full prompt inventory and baseline**

Define which prompts, languages, markets and buyer personas are being tested before work begins.

02

**Record platform, model and test date**

AI answers change across model versions and sessions. Reporting should preserve enough detail to reproduce a claimed improvement.

03

**Define the outcome being purchased**

Separate citation share, brand mentions, recommendation frequency, ranking position and qualified pipeline rather than combining them into one visibility score.

04

**Ask which placements are editorial, paid or agency-controlled**

The current GEO model includes list placement and third-party authority building, so the proposal should identify external costs and disclosure requirements.

05

**Get exit mechanics in writing**

Month-to-month work should still specify cancellation notice, ownership of created assets and access to measurement data after termination.

Reputation Insider verdict

## First Page Sage offers a defined GEO methodology, but buyers should separate its research output from independent proof

The service is built around search authority, third-party references, reviews and monitoring rather than a narrow technical optimization product. That makes the model relevant to companies concerned with how AI systems describe and recommend them.

The main evidentiary limitation is provenance. First Page Sage produces much of the research used to explain the market, publishes its own performance data and ranks itself against competitors. A buyer can still evaluate the work, but the contract should rely on reproducible account-level testing and client-specific baselines rather than category claims published by the agency.
