SOCi review
SOCi has turned multi-location reputation management into an agentic workflow, automating review responses, listings and local social execution across large location networks. The model is compelling at scale, but it moves more publishing decisions into AI systems whose contractual responsibility still sits with the customer.

Genius Agents
SOCi is increasingly selling execution rather than another multi-location dashboard
The current SOCi platform is organized around agents that perform recurring local-marketing tasks at individual locations. The product spans search, reputation and social rather than asking a central team to work every task manually.
SOCi reported more than 412,000 Genius Agents deployed as of August 2026. The figure describes deployment scale and should not be read as an independent measure of agent quality or autonomy.
Listings and local SEO execution
The agent maintains location data, proposes or publishes listing optimizations and works with local pages and Google Posts.
Reviews, sentiment and escalation
Reputation Agent responds to reviews, analyzes feedback and routes selected cases for human approval.
Localized content and engagement
Social Agent creates local content, publishes posts and can respond to engagements according to the approval model selected by the brand.
Genius Reputation Agent
Review responses can move from assisted writing to largely autonomous publication
Genius Reputation Agent analyzes review tone, intent and urgency, generates responses in the brand's configured voice and escalates selected sensitive reviews for human attention.
The distinction is important for large networks. SOCi is designed to reduce the number of routine reviews that a human needs to touch rather than simply adding an AI writing button inside a review inbox.
Routine replies can be generated and published automatically
Approval rules determine how much autonomy the agent receives and which exceptions are sent to a person before publication.
The agent is configured around company guidelines
SOCi positions each agent as trained on the customer's brand language and operating directives rather than relying on a generic response style.
The product extends beyond response management
SOCi also supports review solicitation, surveys and other feedback workflows as part of the wider reputation product.
Sensitive cases can remain human-controlled
Brands can keep specific review categories or exceptions inside approval workflows rather than allowing automatic publication across every case.
Local search and AI visibility
SOCi connects AI discovery to the same location data that drives local search
The Genius Local Search Agent manages listings and local-search optimization while SOCi's research measures whether individual locations are being recommended by ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity.
Listings can be optimized continuously at location level
The agent works with fields such as categories, descriptions, photos and Google Posts and can apply approval rules before publishing changes.
Review and social information can inform search work
SOCi says its agents exchange information across search, reputation and social so local-search recommendations can reflect wider customer and engagement data.
Visibility is measured as recommendation frequency
SOCi uses a controlled `% Recommended` measure to test whether locations appear in standardized local recommendation queries on major AI services.
The dataset does not represent actual consumer prompt traffic
The measurement is useful for repeatable location benchmarking, but the public methodology does not show the real distribution of prompts entered by end users.
SOCi's 2026 AI visibility research covered roughly 350,000 locations and 3.2 million AI queries. Related Local Visibility Index materials identify 2,751 multi-location brands and benchmark ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity against traditional local search.
Listings
Listings remain the infrastructure underneath much of SOCi's reputation proposition
SOCi's Listings Management centralizes business information across services including Google, Apple, Meta and Yelp. The Local Search Agent adds automated optimization on top of that distribution layer.
SOCi currently says the platform manages 3.7 million business locations for about 1,000 enterprise brands. Those scale claims come from SOCi's current commercial materials.
Business information can be managed across large location estates
Corporate teams can update profile information without treating each publisher account as an independent operating system.
Agents can execute selected listing changes
Approval rules allow customers to decide which recommendations require review and which changes can move directly into publication workflows.
Publisher behavior remains outside SOCi's control
SOCi's Terms disclaim responsibility for network changes, publisher delays and third-party integration problems that can affect the customer experience.
Buyer fit
The economics make most sense when the same repetitive work exists across many locations
Large multi-location organizations with recurring local work
Franchises, retail chains, restaurants, property portfolios and other distributed businesses can use SOCi when reviews, listings and local social content have to be maintained across hundreds or thousands of locations.
Healthcare and financial-services organizations may also benefit from centralized rules and approvals, provided compliance teams define where autonomous publication is acceptable.
The product becomes more defensible when a buyer would otherwise need substantial local headcount to perform routine tasks consistently.
Companies without a large location-level execution problem
Small networks and businesses that only need straightforward review monitoring may not capture enough operational value from the broader agentic platform.
Corporate reputation teams focused on media, executives, litigation or wider issue monitoring will still require other specialist tools.
Buyers seeking a transparent self-service price or a dedicated real-user LLM query dataset are also poorly matched to the current product.
Pricing
SOCi does not publish a current dollar rate card
The current buying route is sales-led. SOCi announced simplified Genius Suite packaging in 2024, but the company does not publish current standard prices for its enterprise products.
The buyer has to enter the sales process before meaningful software cost can be compared with competing platforms.
The applicable services, subscription period and pricing are set in the customer-specific Order Form.
SOCi's own Contract FAQ says longer committed subscription periods can receive better pricing because customers do not receive termination for convenience.
Third-party price estimates should not be treated as current SOCi pricing. The company's present commercial pages route prospects to a demonstration rather than a public checkout or rate card.
AI governance and data
SOCi's compliance marketing is stronger than the guarantee contained in its contract
SOCi promotes Shield as an always-on control for generated and user-created content. Its Terms of Service draw a more careful boundary around what that system actually guarantees.
Shield can flag or block content against parameters established inside the SOCi environment and can be applied to Genius-generated content and human-created material.
SOCi's Terms state that Shield does not guarantee compliance with the customer's internal posting policies or legal requirements applicable to regulated industries.
The current subprocessor list identifies OpenAI, Anthropic Claude and Google Cloud services for generative-AI functionality.
SOCi's AI terms disclaim guarantees around output accuracy, completeness and currency and require customers to evaluate their use of generated material.
For regulated organizations, approval design is therefore a procurement decision rather than a configuration detail. A brand can use SOCi to reduce manual review while still retaining mandatory human approval for high-risk categories.
Pros
- SOCi tackles the operational burden of reputation management across very large location networks rather than stopping at centralized reporting.
- Reputation, listings and local social execution can share one operating model and one set of brand directives.
- Approval controls allow organizations to decide where autonomous publication is acceptable and where human review remains mandatory.
- Location-level AI visibility research is more relevant to distributed consumer brands than a single corporate AI visibility score.
- Public legal, SLA, subprocessor and security materials give enterprise buyers more diligence material than many AI-first vendors provide.
Cons
- Current pricing is private, making commercial comparison difficult before engaging sales.
- The strongest efficiency gains depend on delegating publication decisions to agents, which may be uncomfortable in high-risk reputation workflows.
- SOCi Shield does not contractually guarantee regulatory or internal-policy compliance despite stronger language on some product pages.
- AI visibility measurement uses controlled queries rather than observed real-user prompt traffic.
- Listings and reviews remain dependent on third-party networks whose APIs, availability and publishing behavior SOCi cannot control.
Contract and termination
The contract is built around a committed subscription term
SOCi publishes a public legal hub containing its Terms, SLA, DPA, subprocessor list and Customer Contract FAQs. The core Terms currently remain dated July 12, 2024 even though the product has changed materially since then.
The Customer Contract FAQ describes the agreement as evergreen and says the Order Form determines the committed Subscription Term.
SOCi's standard Terms do not impose one universal public renewal cycle or notice period across every customer Order Form.
The Terms provide a 30-day cure process when SOCi materially reduces affected functionality and allow a prorated refund of unused prepaid fees if the problem is not cured.
If the customer's uncured breach causes termination, the customer remains responsible for fees due for the remainder of the active Subscription Term.
Customers need to request download access before termination. Material already published to external Networks is unaffected by SOCi account termination.
Subject to specified exceptions, SOCi's current Terms cap aggregate liability at the fees received or payable during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to liability.
Buyers should request the actual Order Form early in procurement. It carries the subscription period and renewal mechanics that cannot be determined from the general Terms alone.
Service level
The legally incorporated uptime commitment is lower than the figure in SOCi's contract FAQ
SOCi's Service Level Agreement is incorporated into the customer agreement and sets the contractual platform availability commitment.
Monthly platform availability under the published SLA, subject to the stated exclusions.
SOCi's Customer Contract FAQ says the company strives for 99.95% uptime. That is not the same figure as the 99.5% commitment written into the SLA.
Network, publisher, third-party integration, supplier, hosting and connectivity failures outside SOCi's control can be excluded from the availability calculation.
The SLA uses service credits for qualifying availability failures rather than an open-ended damages remedy.
Customers should review the SLA process for requesting credits rather than assuming credits will be applied automatically.
Security and compliance
SOCi has built a substantial formal security and AI-governance program
SOCi maintains a public Trust Center and publishes security commitments through its legal documentation.
Independent user evidence
SOCi has a large public review corpus, although much of the recent G2 activity is seller-driven
Reputation Insider reviewed the current G2 and Capterra profiles alongside individual user comments. The corpus is large enough to identify repeated themes, but many current G2 reviews carry seller-invite or incentivized labels.
What users repeatedly value
Centralized control across many locations, social scheduling and the ability to manage recurring local work from one environment appear frequently in positive reviews.
Where complaints recur
Users mention missing or limited functionality, publishing or listing issues, setup complexity and cases where changes require additional checking or support intervention.
How the rating was treated
Seller-invited and incentivized G2 reviews reduce the value of the aggregate star score as independent evidence. Repeated operational details are more useful than the headline rating.
Reputation Insider verdict
SOCi is strongest when the reputation problem is repetitive local execution at enterprise scale
The product addresses a real weakness in traditional multi-location software: dashboards can centralize thousands of tasks without reducing the number of tasks that someone still has to complete. SOCi's Genius Agents are designed to execute routine review, listings and social work for each location instead.
That automation also creates the main diligence question. The greatest efficiency comes when agents can publish with limited human involvement, while SOCi's own Terms leave accuracy and regulatory responsibility with the customer and explicitly stop short of guaranteeing Shield compliance. Buyers should decide which reputation actions can be autonomous before calculating the labor savings.
