Chatmeter review
Chatmeter combines enterprise review management with listings, local search, social publishing and unusually deep customer-feedback intelligence. Its acquisition by Alchemer expands the product into a broader CX platform, while the ongoing integration makes commercial scope and contract terms worth confirming carefully before purchase.

Product record
Current status
Chatmeter is now being sold as part of a much larger customer-experience platform
Alchemer acquired Chatmeter in September 2025. The deal joined Chatmeter's reviews, listings and social data with Alchemer's survey and customer-feedback products.
The Chatmeter brand and LocationHQ environment remain visible, while current Alchemer materials increasingly refer to the product as Alchemer Reputation Management.
The practical consequence is a broader data model. Review sentiment and location-level reputation can increasingly sit beside structured survey feedback, digital feedback and customer-experience workflows rather than remaining inside a standalone local-marketing system.
The product has already been renamed on major software marketplaces
G2 now lists the product as Alchemer Reputation Management and explicitly identifies Chatmeter as the former name.
A unified Alchemer interface is part of the 2026 product program
Alchemer has described single identity, shared users and roles and a common interface across its products as a major integration project.
Survey and reputation data can increasingly be examined together
This gives CX teams a stronger reason to consider the product than when Chatmeter operated mainly as a multi-location reputation platform.
Reputation management
The review product is built for organizations managing large numbers of locations rather than isolated business profiles
Current Alchemer Reputation Management materials describe monitoring across major review platforms and industry-specific sources, with brand-level reporting that can drill down to individual locations.
Review and industry sites are referenced in current Alchemer brand-management materials. The platform combines review activity with rating, response, sentiment and location-level performance data.
Current LocationHQ documentation names ApartmentGuide, Cars.com, Facebook, Google, Trustpilot and Yelp among the platforms where review responses can be handled through the product.
Chatmeter's AI tools can create review-specific responses, while teams retain the ability to review or edit the proposed text.
Regional and enterprise teams can compare locations while individual managers work on reviews relevant to their own business units.
The current workflow can identify a possible Google policy violation and pre-select a reporting reason before taking the user to Google's own removal process.
Review generation
Review acquisition is now a full campaign product rather than an incidental feature
Chatmeter introduced its current Review Generation product in 2025, adding structured outreach and performance measurement to the existing review-management workflow.
Email, SMS, QR codes and survey thank-you pages are all supported, allowing a multi-location business to build review acquisition into existing customer journeys.
Corporate teams can define messaging and publisher options instead of leaving every location to create its own review-request process.
Current reporting includes review volume generated and the change in review volume after a campaign begins.
Review Builder and survey functionality can collect direct customer feedback without requiring every response to become a public review.
Chatmeter's current educational material warns against requesting reviews only from satisfied customers and against incentivizing public reviews.
Listings and local search
The current Alchemer listings product is materially broader than older Chatmeter coverage figures suggest
The current Listings Management product is positioned around multi-location visibility, centralized updates and local-search performance.
Alchemer now states that its listings network covers more than 200 directories. This supersedes older Chatmeter pages that continue to show smaller network figures and reflects the current Alchemer product positioning.
Corporate teams can push hours, attributes, photos and other business information across large location portfolios without editing profiles individually.
Temporary and future updates can be prepared centrally for holidays, seasonal hours and other predictable location changes.
Listings data sits beside reviews and search-performance reporting so teams can examine accuracy, visibility and customer response together.
Pulse AI and brand intelligence
Chatmeter's strongest differentiation sits in what it does with review data after collection
Pulse AI is designed to extract operational intelligence from large volumes of customer feedback rather than limiting the product to ratings dashboards.
Teams can ask questions directly against customer feedback
Signals analyzes reviews and returns summaries around recurring issues, products, locations and customer experiences instead of requiring teams to manually inspect thousands of comments.
Review photos can be included in feedback interpretation
Chatmeter added image analysis so questions about customer experience can incorporate relevant photographs attached to reviews.
High-risk customer feedback can be escalated earlier
The product can flag content involving issues such as safety, harassment, discrimination and other categories that may require rapid operational or reputation attention.
Local competitors can be compared through their own customer feedback
The product benchmarks customer sentiment and review themes by market, region and individual location rather than relying only on national competitor averages.
Social management
Social is designed around central brand control with room for local execution
Chatmeter's social product sits inside the same LocationHQ environment used for reputation and listings management.
Pricing
Chatmeter remains a sales-led enterprise purchase without published dollar pricing
The current pricing page asks buyers to request a customized proposal rather than publishing package prices.
Chatmeter says pricing varies according to the customer's location count and required product scope. User seats are described as unlimited rather than metered separately.
The public quote form separates buyers into location bands ranging from very small portfolios through 500+ locations and agency or partner accounts.
Reputation, listings, social, intelligence and other modules can make two similarly sized location networks commercially different.
Buyers cannot reliably compare Chatmeter against transparent-priced competitors without entering the sales process.
Contract and renewal
Buyers should confirm which contract document governs a new Reputation Management order
Chatmeter's legacy Terms of Service remain publicly accessible, while Alchemer publishes a newer Services Agreement last modified in January 2026.
The older public contract assumes a substantial default commitment
- Unless the Order Form says otherwise, the default initial term is three years.
- The agreement automatically renews in successive one-year periods.
- Non-renewal generally requires written notice at least 60 days before the end of the current term.
- Fees are described as non-cancellable and non-refundable.
The newer agreement makes the ordering document central
- The initial subscription period is set in the applicable ordering document.
- If no ordering document establishes a period, the default initial term is 30 days.
- Automatic renewal applies unless either party gives at least 30 days' notice.
- Fees are generally non-cancellable and non-refundable, and purchased quantities cannot normally be reduced during a term.
- A minimum commitment can become immediately payable if an agreement ends early.
The public documents describe materially different default terms. A new buyer should therefore establish in writing which agreement, quote and ordering document govern the purchase, along with the initial term, renewal notice and any minimum commitment.
Security and compliance
The move into Alchemer gives the product a stronger public enterprise-security posture
Alchemer's security materials publish a broader set of formal assurance information than Chatmeter historically exposed on its own site.
Chatmeter had also completed its own SOC 2 audit before the acquisition, giving the reputation product an established security-control history.
This gives enterprise procurement teams a clearer formal certification route than the legacy Chatmeter security pages alone.
Current Alchemer materials describe default encryption for stored and transmitted customer data.
Alchemer describes regional data isolation, GDPR support and HIPAA-ready configurations among its enterprise controls.
Buyer fit
Chatmeter is strongest where reputation data needs to influence operations across a large location network
Enterprise and multi-location brands that need more than review collection
Restaurants, healthcare systems, automotive groups, retailers, financial services and other distributed businesses can use the platform to compare locations while maintaining centralized reputation governance.
The product becomes more distinctive when customer sentiment, emerging risk and competitor feedback are as important as the public star rating itself.
Organizations already using or considering Alchemer for survey and CX work also have a stronger reason to evaluate the reputation product because structured and unsolicited feedback can increasingly sit inside the same environment.
Small businesses that mainly want reviews from one or two platforms
A single-location company looking for automated Google review requests and basic responses is unlikely to need Chatmeter's enterprise intelligence and location-management depth.
Agencies seeking a highly developed white-label resale environment should compare dedicated agency platforms rather than assume Chatmeter offers the same commercial model.
Buyers that require immediate self-service pricing will also find the sales-led quote process less convenient than vendors with published location tiers.
Pros
- Review management is designed around large multi-location portfolios with centralized reporting and location-level operational access.
- Pulse AI goes considerably beyond basic sentiment scoring by combining plain-language queries, risk monitoring, image interpretation and competitive intelligence.
- Current Alchemer listings coverage is broad enough for complex enterprise location networks.
- Direct review-response support includes several major general and vertical-specific publishers.
- Review generation supports email, SMS, QR codes and survey-based customer journeys.
- Integration with Alchemer creates a credible route to combining unsolicited reviews with structured survey and CX feedback.
Cons
- No dollar pricing is published, so meaningful cost comparison requires a sales conversation.
- The current transition from Chatmeter to Alchemer leaves legacy and current product documentation visible at the same time.
- Direct response capability is narrower than the total number of review sources the wider platform can monitor.
- Smaller businesses may pay for enterprise analytics and governance that exceed their actual review-management requirements.
- Some older Chatmeter pages still publish coverage figures that differ from the newer Alchemer product pages.
- The independent evidence corpus is respectable but much smaller than those of the largest vendors in the category.
Independent user evidence
Software-review evidence is positive overall, while consumer-review platforms are too small to carry much weight
The independent corpus requires a naming adjustment because G2 now lists Chatmeter under Alchemer Reputation Management. Capterra still maintains the legacy Chatmeter profile.
What software users tend to value
Independent software reviews repeatedly mention consolidated reputation management, ease of working across locations, reporting and the quality of account support.
Where criticism appears
Historical reviews include complaints around reporting presentation, notifications and aspects of usability. The much smaller Trustpilot sample includes one older contract-related complaint.
The acquisition affects how the evidence should be read
Most historical reviews were written before the Alchemer acquisition. They remain useful for judging Chatmeter's core reputation and listings capabilities but provide less evidence about the combined Alchemer experience now being developed.
Trustpilot contains only three reviews and should not be treated as a representative satisfaction measure. BBB's A+ is an organizational rating based on BBB methodology rather than a user-review score.
External evidence: G2, Capterra, Trustpilot and BBB.
Reputation Insider verdict
Chatmeter remains strongest as an enterprise reputation-intelligence product rather than a review tool with extra features
Its most useful capability is the connection between location-level reputation and operational intelligence. Large brands can identify weak locations, examine recurring customer complaints, compare local competitors and escalate potentially serious issues without reducing the program to average star ratings.
The Alchemer acquisition makes the product more interesting for CX organizations because review data can increasingly be combined with structured customer feedback. The trade-off is a product and commercial environment that is still moving from the old Chatmeter structure into the wider Alchemer portfolio.
Smaller companies should compare narrower alternatives. For a large multi-location organization that intends to use the intelligence, governance and listings capabilities as well as review management, the product has a much clearer case.
